Hi Year 4,

 It has been lovely to have some sunshine recently and we hope that you have enjoyed spending time outdoors, making the most of it.  I have really enjoyed looking at the photographs, drawings and writing that you have uploaded this week.  Keep up the great work. If you get up to any other fun activities please share with myself and the rest of the class. 

Underneath, is this week’s timetable that includes a range of different subjects to work through.  Again, I have tried to include practical activities that you can use if you are finding the internet more difficult to access.  All resources will be uploaded to Google Classroom on Monday morning for you to work through, at your own pace, during the week.

Hi Year 4,

Hoping you are all safe and well.

As we move towards the end of this academic year, we want to help prepare you, as best we can, towards moving into Year 5.  Transition packs are ready to be collected from school by your parents/carers. Each file contains the following:

• a letter from the staff members that you will be working with, sharing some information about themselves – hopefully this might help get to know them a bit better.
• a sheet in which we would like you to add information about yourself; It would be great to find out a bit more about you.
• a history homework project for you to complete during the summer holiday
• additional Maths and English activities, should you wish to complete during the holidays, with a blank exercise book

Our home learning timetable this week includes a mixture of maths, writing, reading, spelling and transition activities.   If you are accessing Google Classroom, all of the activities have been scheduled for Monday so that you can work through them at your own speed during the week, completing as many or as few as you feel best.  Again, I have also tried to include a range of practical activities that can also be completed on paper.

I will be supporting home learning over the next few weeks so please feel free to message if you need any support.  I have really enjoyed hearing about your learning at home and looking through the fantastic photos that you upload.

Hello Year 4,

I am really impressed with all of your work this week and have received some lovely photographs of what you have all been up to. Keep sharing them!

We have decided to have a focus around health and wellbeing this week. It is so important that you are comfortable, happy and healthy! There are many things that you can do to improve your physical and mental wellbeing such as exercising, keeping your brain active and taking time to do the things that you really enjoy. We have included some art, D.T, cookery, reading and writing activities all centred around staying well mentally and physically. Again, you can complete as many or as few as possible and work with any brothers or sisters. Many of the activities are practical but we have still included some resources here that might help you should you wish to use them. The resource number is listed in red on the timetable.  You could even think of some of your own activities this week and share them on the google classroom. I will share with you different activities I get up to when in school this week.

Hi Year 4,

I hope you are all safe and well. I have enjoyed looking at your home learning this week. You are all doing really well. It was fab to see Izzy's mile challenge video on the google drive and I have received some excellent pictures from Graysen with all of his walking he has been doing with his family. It is strange in school and we are all missing you a lot. This is why it is lovely to receive you pictures and work for us all to see so keep up the hard work! If you need any help with anything, just leave a comment on the Google Classroom and I will get in touch with you.

Hi Year 4,

I hope you have had a lovely half term break with your family and enjoyed the sunshine in your gardens. I have enjoyed the photos I have received from Graysen and Cameron on their projects, very creative! If any of you took part in the Daily Mile at Home challenge, I would love to see some pictures so please feel free to share them on the Google Classroom. I have attached next week's timetable for you to have a look at. Remember the activities will be posted on the day and you can pick which activities you want to do. The most important thing is that you are safe.
If you haven't had a look at the reading books on Oxford Owl, ask a grown up to sign up for you so you can have a look.

I'm so pleased with how well you are all doing with your home learning during these tricky times. We are all very proud of you. Remember, there are practical options and you can pick which activities you want to do; please don't worry about doing them all. I have enjoyed looking at all the work you have been doing and It was great to see some of you in the fantastic video from Izzy Production. Well done guys!

Hello Year 4,

Year 4 Google Classroom Log in

Hi Year 4, 

Just to let you know that something has happened and the google classroom log in for the class page 4@blackfell.co.uk has been changed. I have sorted this out and the password is now Blackfell2020. You also have individual logins now. I have posted these on the class page. Let me know how you get on logging in and if there is any problems I will be calling you all across next week.

Hi Year 4,

Well can you believe it is May already? School has been very quiet without you all. I have been really pleased to see how well you are doing accessing Google Classroom, Purple Mash and TTRockstars so well done. It has been lovely seeing more photos being shared. I will be attaching next week's timetable onto here. Remember to do as few or as many activities as you can manage and that there are practical options too. The most important thing we need you to do is look after each other and stay safe.
There are a few notices to share this week:

VE Day:
Next Friday is the anniversary of V.E day commemorating the official end of the Second World War in Europe; it has been specifically arranged to be a bank holiday this year. We had planned to organise activities in school designed to support understanding and to celebrate. As this is not possible, we still think it is appropriate to not let this pass us by. Attached you will find some suggested activities to do at home to celebrate VE Day. You can do as few or as many as you want. If you have siblings in school, you can mix and match activities with them too. It would be lovely to see some photos of activities you do.

Reading:
We appreciate that many of you may have completed the reading books you were sent home. Fortunately, one of of our reading schemes, Oxford Owl, have released many of their books as free e-books that can be read at home on tablets, laptops or computers.
In order to access these books, you need to follow this link to create a log in. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/user/sign_up.html
Once you have verified your email address you will be able to view the free e-book library and the books available. To find your child's level, click on Levels then Oxford Level.
I will be in touch next week (week beginning 4.5.20) to tell you which Oxford Level books your child should be reading. You can make a note of the book and pages your child has read in their reading diary as you would for school.

Good afternoon everyone. It was great to ring home this week and find out how you all are. We are missing you all and can’t wait to see you again!  Until then, we will continue to help support you with home learning through offering practical ideas and tasks here and adding further resources that can be accessed on Google Classroom.   

We are trying our best to follow the curriculum that you would have studied at school.  Remember, these are suggestions and you can do as few or as many as you wish.  We know some of you are completing work on paper and others are uploading onto Google Classroom for us to look at - both are fine.
